## Associate HR GeneralistApply: Asheville, NC, USA (Distribution Center): Full time: Posted Today: 127821## **Position Overview**This role performs many of the core HR Generalist functions and focuses on operational excellence and consistent execution in HR practices. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical abilities, sound judgment in handling sensitive matters, and effective management of multiple HR processes.*Schedule: Shift assignment varies based on business volume. Flexibility to work across shifts, including occasional schedule changes on short notice, is required.*## **Essential Job Functions****Leave, ADA & Workers' Compensation Administration*** Own end-to-end administration of FMLA, non-occupational medical leave, short-term disability, ADA accommodations and the interactive process, workers' compensation claims, and OSHA-related cases and requirements* Manage cases from intake through closure, including documentation, certification and recertification tracking, employee and manager communication, accommodation discussions, and return-to-work coordination* Serve as a primary point of contact for third-party leave and workers' compensation vendors, ensuring cases progress accurately, efficiently, and compliantly* Escalate matters involving novel legal exposure, litigation risk, or precedent-setting decisions to senior HR leadership; independently manages all other cases, including complex and high-risk situations**HRIS, Reporting & Benefits Administration*** Process HR transactions and generate standard reports in Workday while ensuring data accuracy and integrity* Train employees on HRIS self-service features* Support benefits administration* Adopt and use HR technology and AI-enabled tools to streamline processes, reduce manual work, strengthen reporting, and improve data accuracy**Talent Acquisition & Onboarding*** Manage full-cycle recruitment for hourly and warehouse positions, from job posting through offer acceptance* Conduct candidate screenings, coordinate interviews, and support offer and pre-employment activities* Facilitate consistent in-person new hire orientation, including required paperwork, I-9 verification, HRIS entry, applicable safety information, and standard operating procedures* Track recruitment activity and metrics to ensure timely, compliant execution**Engagement & Development Support*** Coordinate training and development activities and maintain HR documentation* Assist with employee engagement, wellness, and recognition programs* Maintain a consistent and accessible HR presence across assigned shifts, building trusted relationships with employees and operational leaders**Employee Relations & Compliance*** Conduct fair, objective, and well-documented employee relations conversations and investigations, using sound judgment to identify matters that warrant escalation* Escalate highly complex, sensitive, or high-risk matters to senior HR team members through the appropriate channels## ## **Core Competencies & Attributes*** Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential, sensitive, or complex matters, including knowing when to escalate* Meticulous documentation and record-keeping, with consistent and timely follow-through across multiple concurrent cases and deadlines* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills* Excellent verbal and written communication with employees and leaders across diverse audiences and shifts* Fair and consistent application of policies and procedures* Process-improvement mindset and willingness to adopt new systems, tools, and AI-enabled technology* Self-motivated and proactive, able to prioritize multiple responsibilities independently while seeking guidance on complex matters* Strong customer service orientation and ability to build trusted relationships* Flexibility to work varying shifts as business volume requiresOne of our core focuses here at JCG is creating a community and culture that builds belonging.
