Registered Nurse – NICU (Level III)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (3x12-Hour Shifts, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM) | Every other weekend required, with potential for additional weekends based on unit needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients in a Level III NICU at an acute care hospital averaging approximately 190 births per month
• Monitor and assess the condition of critically ill and premature neonates, implementing individualized care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate patient care and communicate clinical findings
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Epic electronic health record system
• Adhere to unit protocols, safety standards, and facility compliance requirements throughout the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered California RN license (must be in hand prior to start)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in a NICU specialty
• Current BCLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• Ability to commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of placement; approvals are based on facility needs
• Must disclose any license or background hits at time of submission; no open license hits will be approved

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic charting system
• Familiarity with Level III NICU protocols and high-acuity neonatal patient populations
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to varying unit needs and float between like facilities within the state when required
