BriefJobDescription TheProjectEngineerwillworkcloselywithProjectManagers,ConstructionManagers,Foremen,Estimators,Engineers,customers,vendors,andsubcontractorstosupportthesuccessfulexecutionofindustrialconstructionandautomationprojects. Thispositionwillberesponsibleforassistingwithprojectplanning,estimating,engineeringcoordination,procurement,scheduling,documentation,costtracking,andfieldsupport.TheProjectEngineerwillhelpensureprojectsareproperlyplannedandexecutedsafely,efficiently,onschedule,andwithinbudget. Theidealcandidateishighlyorganized,technicallyminded,proactive,andcapableofmanagingmultiplepriorities.Thispersonshouldhaveastrongsenseofurgency,attentiontodetail,andtheabilitytoidentifyissuesbeforetheybecomeproblems. TheProjectEngineerroleisintendedtoprovideanopportunityforcontinuedprofessionaldevelopmentandadvancementwithinRAM.SuccessfulProjectEngineersmayprogressintorolessuchasProjectManager,ConstructionManager,Estimator,orEngineer,dependingontheirstrengthsandinterests. Responsibilities ProjectPlanning&Coordination AssistProjectManagersandConstructionManagerswithplanningandexecutionofindustrialconstructionprojects. Participateinprojectkickoffmeetingsandassistwithestablishingprojectrequirements,schedules,anddeliverables. Reviewprojectscope,drawings,specifications,andcontractdocuments. Assistinidentifyingprojectrequirements,risks,materialneeds,manpowerrequirements,andpotentialissues. Helpdevelopandmaintainprojectschedules. Coordinateactivitiesbetweenengineering,estimating,purchasing,shopfabrication,fieldpersonnel,andsubcontractors. Trackprojectprogressandcommunicateissuesthatcouldaffectschedule,cost,orquality. Assistwithprojectcloseoutandcompletiondocumentation. Estimating&Preconstruction Participateinbidwalksandsitevisits. Assistwithdefiningprojectscopeanddevelopingestimates. Reviewdrawings,specifications,andcustomerrequirements. Obtainandreviewsubcontractorandvendorquotations. Assistwithquantitytakeoffsandmaterialpricing. Participateinbidreviewsandproposalpreparation. Developanunderstandingofprojecthistory,costs,andproductionrequirementstoimprovefutureestimatingaccuracy. Engineering&TechnicalSupport CoordinatewithRAM'sengineeringteamonprojectdesignandtechnicalrequirements. Reviewdrawingsandidentifypotentialconstructabilityissues. Assistwith3Dmodeling,layouts,fabricationdrawings,andfielddocumentationasrequired. Supportthedevelopmentofpiping,equipment,structural,andautomationsolutions. Assistwithfieldmeasurements,3Dscanning,andverificationofexistingconditions. Workwithengineeringandfieldpersonneltodeveloppracticalconstructionsolutions. Procurement&Logistics Assistwithdeterminingrequiredmaterials,equipment,andtools. Preparepurchaserequestsandcoordinatewithpurchasingandshopsupport. Trackmaterialandequipmentorderstoensuretheyarrivewhenneeded. Coordinatedeliveriesandlogisticswiththeshopandfieldteams. Helpmaintainaccurateprojectdocumentationrelatedtopurchasingandmaterials. ProjectFinancial&AdministrativeSupport Assistwithprojectcosttrackingandbudgetmanagement. Monitorcommittedandactualcostsandcommunicatepotentialbudgetissues. Assistwithchangeorderdocumentationandpricing. Supportprojectbillingandschedule-of-valuesrequirements. Maintainaccurateprojectrecordsanddocumentation. Prepareprojectstatusreportsandotherrequireddocumentation. Utilizeprojectmanagementandconstructionsoftwaretomaintainaccurateinformation. Field&ConstructionSupport Conductjobsitevisitstomonitorprogress,quality,andprojectrequirements. WorkdirectlywithForemenandConstructionManagerstohelpresolvefieldissues. Assistwithcoordinatingmanpower,materials,equipment,andsubcontractors. Helpensureworkisbeingperformedaccordingtoplans,specifications,safetyrequirements,andapplicablecodes. Documentfieldconditionsandcommunicatechangesorissuestotheprojectteam. Assistinresolvingconstructionandtechnicalissuesastheyarise. Communication&CustomerService Communicateprofessionallywithcustomers,vendors,subcontractors,andRAMteammembers. Participateincustomermeetingsandprojectdiscussions. Providetimelyupdatesregardingprojectstatus,issues,andrequirements. Developstrongworkingrelationshipswithcustomersandprojectteammembers. Anticipateprojectneedsandproactivelycommunicatepotentialproblems. Education&Experience Bachelor'sdegreeinEngineering,ConstructionManagement,Architecture,BuildingScience,orarelatedfieldpreferred. 2–4yearsofexperienceinconstruction,engineering,estimating,projectcoordination,orarelatedfieldpreferred. Strongcandidateswithlessexperiencemaybeconsideredbasedoneducation,technicalability,anddemonstratedinitiative. Understandingofindustrialconstructionprocessesandprojectmanagementprinciples. Abilitytoreadandunderstandconstructiondrawings,specifications,andtechnicaldocuments. Familiaritywithconstructionmaterials,equipment,andfieldinstallationpractices. Experiencewithestimating,scheduling,projectmanagement,CAD,BIM,or3Dmodelingsoftwareisaplus. ProficiencywithMicrosoftOffice,particularlyExcelandOutlook. Strongorganizationalandtime-managementskills. Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills. Abilitytomanagemultipleprojectsandpriorities. Strongattentiontodetail. Abilitytoworkindependentlywhilealsocontributingeffectivelytoateam.
