Overview EDD Canine Handler Job Location: Austin, TX 78724 Teams: Security Job Type: Full-Time Work Type: Onsite Job Description Join SOC LLC as an EDD Canine Handler within our innovative X AI Armed Security Services division. This role is critical to supporting our mission to provide top-tier security solutions in the realm of Critical Infrastructure Services. Based remotely in Texas, this position offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that combines advanced technology and canine expertise to enhance security measures. Responsibilities Conduct explosive detection operations with the assigned canine, working as a certified team to identify explosive odors at client worksites in accordance with mission requirements and safety protocols. Participate in daily training to maintain deployment readiness and meet client standards; accurately complete all training logs, screening documentation, and administrative reports. Ensure the daily health and welfare of the assigned canine, including feeding, watering, grooming, and behavior observation; promptly report any concerns to supervisory staff. Provide safe and secure transport of the canine between home and job sites, including coordination of air travel for deployments to remote venues as required. Attend required training sessions related to security operations, program procedures, and canine deployment standards to maintain readiness and compliance. Qualifications Knowledge of canine anatomy, physiology, behaviors and handling techniques Thorough understanding of local, state and federal regulations pertaining to Explosive Detection Canines Ability to exercise sound judgement and decision making Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team The ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all stakeholders Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Two years of K9 Handler experience. Prior law enforcement and/or military detection dog experience preferred. Must pass and maintain applicable contract testing certification/s, training and security clearances; Must pass background check and drug screening Valid US Drivers License Must possess a valid US Passport Salary: In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $30.50-$35/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
