Substitute Registered Nurses are needed to provide crucial coverage for daily and district-wide callouts. This role is a pivotal part of ensuring all students, including those in high-needs and SPED classrooms, receive consistent and compassionate care.

Your expertise will have a direct impact, as the district is currently integrating SPED classrooms and requires skilled professionals able to adapt and support diverse student needs, including toileting and medical assistance in specialized settings.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current and unencumbered RN license in Illinois.
• Experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred.
• Comfortable providing health services in high-needs and SPED classrooms.
• Knowledge of care for students with disabilities, including toileting and personal hygiene.
• Excellent communication and adaptability skills.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a substitute nurse, covering daily needs and responding to district coverage requests.
• Deliver nursing care for students with a variety of health needs, supporting both general education and SPED classroom environments.
• Manage medication administration, provide first aid, and respond to medical emergencies.
• Assist with toileting and other essential care tasks for students requiring additional support.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure safe and effective care plans.
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records in alignment with district policies.
