Engineering Associate - Traffic Signals - 10941 US:TX:Corpus Christi | Public Works | Full Time $ 55,060.58-63,319.67 USD Description Overview Under general supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Associate will perform various duties and tasks in support of Traffic Engineering, Right-of-Way, and Traffic Operations. Responsibilities include office and field support; review and tracking status of private, maintenance and capital improvement projects; tracking and inputting information into databases and asset management systems; coordinating information with other City departments; providing information in response to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities Assists managing Engineer in the management of right-of-way permitting, licensing and review of traffic control plans, designs and specifications Maintains records, reports, files and construction plans Provides office and field support Tracks status and coordination of requests from the general public, contractors, internal City departments and external agencies Assists managing Engineer in the review, research, and maintenance of records for traffic control devices, street lighting, residential traffic management requests Coordination and review of private, maintenance and capital improvement projects Maintains records, reports, files and construction plans Provides office and field support Assists managing Engineer in the review, research and records for traffic systems, signs, and pavement markings Tracks field changes using databases and asset management software Assists in the review and management of maintenance plans Assists managing Engineer in development of layouts, sketches, plans, calculations, estimates, memos, and presentations Attends and participates in meetings as assigned Coordinates work flow for projects Assists in providing responses to the general public, contractors, and other public entities or outside agencies Assists in walk-ins, handles phone calls, emails, and work order requests Assists the managing Engineer in special projects, as assigned in support of Traffic Engineering/ Operations functions May be asked to perform other duties as assigned Position Type and Typical Hours of Work Non - Rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; must be available to work additional hours as needed . Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s Degree (AA/ AS); or Two (2) year technical certificate Two (2) years of experience Licenses and Certifications Required Proof of Automobile Liability Insurance A valid Texas driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire Employment Testing Employment is contingent on passing any post‑offer pre‑employment screening as listed below: Criminal Background Check: Yes Physical Exam: Yes Basis of Rating A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications.
