Sentara is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Woodbridge, Virginia This is a Flexi, Rotating shift opportunity The is 1 week per month; Monday - Friday from 3 pm - 7 pm, plus 12 -hour shifts on Sat & Sun The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs all diagnostic Nuclear Medicine Technologist I responsibilities in addition to the following: Therapies, dual modality NM/CT, lymphoscintigraphy, or hospital based / standing ED. Performs to all quality control and quality assurance standards as prescribed by all state, federal, and local agencies. Provide the best patient care and practice radiation safety standards at all times. Conducts general Nuclear Medicine imaging of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include positioning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology. Competent in preparation, dose management and administration of radiopharmaceuticals, radioisotopes, operation of radiation producing equipment, operation of the electronic radiology systems, preparation of patient room/equipment, provides patient and family education and maintains adequate supply inventory. Explains examination procedure and discharge instructions to patient and completes departmental documentation. Complies with all radioactive activity monitoring and documentation. Performs to all quality control and quality assurance standards as prescribed by all state, federal, and local agencies. Intravenous (IV) competency required. Provides quality MRI imaging to patients under the direction of a supervising physician with adherence to the required protocol standards. Duties may include but are not limited to: Administration of MRI contrast per protocol, evaluation and approval of patient MRI safety screening form prior to patient entering scanner, knowledge of MRI safety zones and other safety regulations. Reviews patient records for accuracy and evaluates all implants and devices through vendor resources. Acts as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel. Maintains patient records, reports, and files. Performs patient MRI exam per protocol, reviews imaging for accuracy and quality prior to sending for interpretation. Explains examination and procedure to patient and completes departmental documentation. Must obtain ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT within 2 years of hire. Qualifications Trade School degree in Radiologic Technology or Bachelor's in Nuclear Medicine or related field required. Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) Registry-eligible graduates in lieu of ARRT or CNMT must be registered within one year of hire. #J-18808-Ljbffr
