Job Overview As Senior Manufacturing Support at Caterpillar Inc., you will directly support Manufacturing Engineers and assembly on the plant floor through the design and documentation of layout, tooling, fixtures, handling systems, safety, ergonomics and other duties as assigned. Positions available: 3 IPV Planner positions (PINpoint support, PSPS/Fluid fill/AC charge support, Online IPV/Back of Plant support) and 2 Assembly Planner positions (East Line, West Line). Schedule and Pay 3rd Shift Schedule: Monday – Thursday 7:30 PM – 5:30 AM, Overtime as business needs require. Starting Pay: $29.38/hour. Job Duties / Responsibilities Troubleshoot IPV process, equipment, software and related machine issues. Create tool lists for assembly. Provide tooling support to Compact Track Loaders (CTL) Assembly Line as needed. Develop final work orders detailing processing steps, component parts, technical aspects of part installation or application, and tooling or fixtures required for production. Perform changes and updates to standard work schedules and relevant assembly procedures based on Engineering, Assembly, or Quality input. Follow and utilize Caterpillar Production System principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work. Relies on independent decision‑making and problem solving to complete job tasks. Meet deadlines. Multitask and prioritize work. Use Engineering prints and release notices to develop production operation sequences and documents in GENEO. Develop layouts using CAD systems and identify material locations. Utilize systems such as CAD, GENEO, and Team Center. Provide summaries of leadership. Contribute as a team member. Basic Requirements Problem‑solving: Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions. Communication: Good communication skills to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and explain technical concepts. Detail‑oriented: Meticulous attention to detail when performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation. Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Team player: willingness to be multi‑trained and maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area. Top Candidates Will Also Have: Intermediate knowledge of Standard Assembly tools and their applications. Beginner/novice proficiency in New Product Introduction (NPI). At least 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. At least 1 year of experience in Project Management. Expert proficiency in recognizing or describing mechanical functions and specifications of products and/or parts. Expert proficiency working with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work. Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and geometries. Basic understanding of AutoCAD. 2‑ or 4‑year technical degree (e.g., Mfg. Technology, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering). Operations/Industrial Planning experience. Strong analytical skills. Strong math background. Advanced computer and Caterpillar System knowledge. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods. Ability to perform repetitive operations. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Additional Information Location: Sanford, NC.
