Bloomfield Hills, MI 49304 Job Summary The Afternoon Nurse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff during the afternoon shift. This includes ensuring that all patients receive high‑quality care, managing staff schedules, and addressing any issues that arise during the shift. The Nursing Supervisor protects and promotes resident rights. Manages facility in accord with facility philosophy, in compliance with standards of professional nursing practice, and with all State and Federal rules and regulations. Utilizes resources in an efficient manner. Utilizes the nursing process in assessing emergent and non‑emergent resident/visitor situations. In the absence of other nursing management is responsible for discipline, scheduling, supply appropriation, complaint reports and assisting nursing staff as required. Key Responsibilities Supervise nursing staff during the afternoon shift Ensure that all patients receive high‑quality care Manage staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage Address any issues that arise during the shift Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records Participate in staff meetings and training sessions Adhere to all healthcare regulations and guidelines Qualifications Current, active license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Michigan. Must have no restrictions of license. Current BLS/CPR card. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. Prior experience in long term care in a supervisory capacity is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work other shifts. Graduated from accredited school of nursing. Performance Requirements Knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
