Reliability Engineer – GMP Asset Management

Location: Saratoga Springs, NY

Employment Type: 12-Month Contract with Potential Extension

Industry: Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences Manufacturing

Schedule: Onsite and hybrid opportunities available

Hours: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with some flexibility

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Reliability Engineers to support asset management and equipment onboarding activities within a brownfield GMP manufacturing environment.

This role will focus on preparing facility and utility assets for operational readiness by establishing accurate equipment records, asset hierarchies, maintenance requirements, work instructions, and supporting documentation within the site's CMMS.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with asset onboarding, reliability/maintenance programs, CMMS systems, and GMP-regulated facilities. Experience with Maximo is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Collect, review, and enter equipment and asset data into the CMMS.

Establish equipment, component, and asset records.

Develop and maintain equipment and asset hierarchies.

Create and maintain work instructions for facility and utility equipment.

Develop and establish Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) information and supporting documentation.

Establish maintenance and reliability requirements for newly onboarded equipment.

Ensure equipment and asset information is accurately entered and maintained within Maximo.

Support Facilities Asset Management activities.

Maintain a high level of data integrity and accuracy across asset records.

Support development and implementation of preventive maintenance and reliability requirements.

Help ensure the site's maintenance and reliability systems are properly configured prior to operational startup.

Collaborate with engineering, facilities, maintenance, commissioning, and other project stakeholders during equipment onboarding.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in asset management, asset onboarding, reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or a closely related discipline within a GMP-regulated environment.

Direct hands-on experience working with a CMMS.

Experience supporting facility and/or utility equipment.

Knowledge of equipment and asset hierarchy development.

Experience developing or working with LOTO documentation.

Understanding of maintenance and reliability program setup.

Strong equipment-data management and data-integrity skills.

Ability to accurately manage and enter large volumes of technical asset information.

Comfortable working within an active/live GMP manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on Maximo experience.

Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences manufacturing experience.

Experience supporting brownfield facility projects, facility startup, commissioning, or equipment turnover.

Experience establishing preventive maintenance programs or maintenance strategies.

Familiarity with facilities asset management and operational-readiness activities.

Experience onboarding new equipment into a CMMS from initial data collection through completed asset records.

Work Arrangement

Two positions are available with different work arrangements:

Onsite: Monday–Friday at the project site in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Hybrid: Primarily remote with approximately one week onsite per month. Travel-related support may be available for required onsite periods.

Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidate will be someone who can step into a GMP capital project and take ownership of the asset onboarding process—from gathering equipment information and establishing asset hierarchies to ensuring the CMMS contains accurate, complete, and operationally useful maintenance data.

This position is particularly well suited for a Reliability Engineer, Asset Management Engineer, CMMS Engineer, or Facilities Engineer who has supported pharmaceutical manufacturing facility startup or brownfield expansion projects.
