Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care populations
• Circulate in the OR during deliveries and function in the role of Baby Nurse, providing continuous newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum
• Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Perform and interpret electronic fetal monitoring in accordance with AWHONN guidelines
• Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units as needed, including potential float to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care
• Work every other weekend and holidays as required; schedule posted every six weeks to meet unit needs

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license; compact license accepted
• Minimum of 3–5 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, high-volume environment — no exceptions
• Demonstrated high-risk Labor and Delivery experience is required
• Must be able to circulate in the OR (hard stop requirement)
• Must be able to provide full newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments (hard stop requirement)
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP (proof required at submission)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Experience supporting patients in substance recovery programs
