Medical Assistants are an integral part of our healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will work with our provider team to insure a smooth and efficient visit. Medical Assistants are also key in establishing first impressions and perceptions of our practice through interaction with patients, family members, and visitors during the medical portion of the patient visit. Medical Assistants must be proficient in collecting clinical information from the patient and communicating effectively with our providers. In addition to excellent clinical knowledge and skills, the successful Medical Assistant must possess excellent communication and customer service skills, must be computer literate and experienced in common office applications, be comfortable with using an electronic medical record (eClinicalWorks), must thrive in a fast-paced environment, be capable of multi-tasking, and must be a team player.

Duties include but are not limited to:

· Greeting patients

· Collecting and recording patient vital signs

· Updating patient medication lists

· Assisting providers with examining and treating the patient

· Conducting CLIA Waived laboratory testing

· Administering subcutaneous and intramuscular injections

· Assisting providers with minor in-office procedures

· Completing referrals to other providers

· Completing prior authorizations/referrals as required by insurance carriers

· Addressing telephone messages and questions from patients via telephone and patient portal

· Communicating diagnostic test results to patients after review by provider

· Completing patient screenings as necessary

· Scanning and managing patient documents in the electronic health record

· Other duties as assigned by Supervisors, Management, and Providers

Work schedule – Monday through Friday
