Budget Analyst

This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, headquartered in Rockville, Maryland. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR GS-11 Minimum Qualifications: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Assisting with the formulation of federal budgets by analyzing program funding requirements and preparing budget estimates. Supporting budget execution activities by monitoring obligations and expenditures and preparing financial reports. Conducting financial analysis and preparing briefing materials to support management decision-making. OR Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field that is directly related to the duties of this position; or LL.M, if related. OR Have a combination of graduate education and experience, as described above that meets 100% of the requirements. GS-12 Minimum Qualifications: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Supporting federal budget formulation by analyzing funding requirements and preparing estimates and justification materials. Reviewed funding requests for accuracy and compliance with appropriations guidance and organizational. Assisted with budget execution by monitoring obligations and expenditures and preparing financial reports. Reconciled financial data and identified potential fiscal risks affecting execution. Conducting financial analysis and coordinated with program offices and leadership staff to resolve funding issues and respond to data calls.
