What You'll Do Examine eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination and to diagnose diseases and other abnormalities such as glaucoma or color blindness. Document accurately patient encounter in the EMR system. Analyze test results and develop a treatment plan. Prescribe, supply, fit and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses and other vision aids. Prescribe medications to treat eye diseases. Educate and counsel patients on contact lens care, visual hygiene, lighting arrangements and safety factors. Provide services to patients as required such as OCT, take Fundus photos, etc. Consult with and refer patients to ophthalmologist or other health care practitioner if additional medical treatment is determined necessary. Remove foreign bodies from the eye. Prescribe therapeutic procedures to correct or conserve vision. Monitor and stratify individual risk factors associated inherent to the patient, family or underlying conditions. Help identify and engage patients in need of an Optometry Exam. Assist in managing the Optical. Adheres to the standards and policies of the Organizational Privacy/Security and Compliance Programs, including to comply with applicable laws and regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, OIG guidelines, other State and Federal laws). What We're Seeking: An OD (Doctor of Optometry) who has passed the NBEO (National Board of Examiners in Optometry) and has at least 1 year of experience. A patient-focused, quality-driven Optometrist who is looking for a long-term home in healthcare.
