Travel Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Burke, VA

Make a real difference as a travel Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Burke, VA. You will work with patients recovering from injuries or illness in an outpatient setting, assisting licensed Physical Therapists to help patients move better, feel better, and stay active. Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational program.
• Active state PTA license required to start the assignment in Virginia.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
• Experience in outpatient physical therapy preferred.
• Ability to implement treatment goals and programs established by a Physical Therapist, including gait training, strengthening, balance, and functional skills training.
• Familiarity with common therapeutic modalities such as hot/cold packs, ultrasound, TENS, and therapeutic pool or whirlpool preferred.
• Ability to document patient progress and communicate with interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior travel or contract outpatient experience preferred.
• Experience with safe patient handling and use of assistive devices preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift pattern: 5x8.
• Typical weekly schedule: Monday 6:30 AM12:30 PM; Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 AM7:00 PM; Wednesday 6:30 AM3:00 PM; Friday 7:00 AM3:30 PM.
• Outpatient setting. Candidate may be expected to follow facility policies for safety, infection control, and documentation.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide high-quality care that supports patient safety and recovery. Follow established therapy plans and assist with interventions including posture training, strengthening, endurance, balance, coordination, joint mobility, pain relief, and community re-entry training. Promote safe patient handling, infection control, and proper use of therapeutic equipment. Communicate progress and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient-centered outcomes.
