Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Resource Pool)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours (19:00–07:00)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a telemetry/medical-surgical unit with a patient population that includes DM, COPD, cardiovascular disease, hepatic conditions, oncology, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, and high geriatric/Medicare populations
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin); proficiency in at least 3 of 5 listed drips required
• Manage and maintain central lines in accordance with facility protocols
• Float within skill set across inpatient units as needed (excluding L&D/Women's, ED, and Special Procedures)
• Complete accurate and timely documentation using Epic electronic charting
• Adhere to every-other-weekend coverage schedule and work every other holiday (preference for coverage of Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, and NYE)

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license required at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Proficiency in at least 3 of 5 cardiac drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin
• IV start competency and telemetry monitoring skills required
• Successful prior travel nursing history required; first-time travelers are not eligible unless they have 10 or more years of experience in a teaching hospital with residents
• Must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility; local travelers are not eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS, PCCN, or ONS certification
• Vascular and/or oncology nursing experience
• Experience in a teaching hospital environment with resident physicians
• Epic electronic charting experience
