Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room RN to join our travel team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar clinical setting, demonstrating independence and a comprehensive understanding of perioperative nursing care. The RN will provide routine and complex patient care, including assessments, interventions, and patient education, across multiple surgical service lines.


Shift Details:

• 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
• Available shifts:
  • 0630-1500 (2 openings)
  • 1100-1930 (1 opening)
  • 1400-2230 (1 opening)

Responsibilities:

• Deliver nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for efficacy and side effects.
• Document patient histories, symptoms, medication administration, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Manage contingencies and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Collaborate effectively with the OR team, including coverage for GI, general surgery, urology, gyn, vascular, ortho, neuro, robotics, reconstructive plastics, podiatry, and cardiovascular procedures.
• Support patients with diverse psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a perioperative or relevant nursing specialty
• BLS certification required
• RN license in the state of employment or in a compact state
• EPIC experience highly preferred

Additional Information:

• Must submit requests for special days off in advance and obtain approval prior to hire.
• Experience in GI, general surgery, urology, gyn, vascular, ortho, neuro, and robotics preferred but not mandatory.
• Flexibility to work various shifts to meet patient care needs.
