Overview

Superior Duct Fabrication is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Material Handler / Forklift Operator to join our Columbus, Ohio branch. This position is responsible for safely moving, loading, unloading, organizing, and staging materials throughout the facility. The ideal candidate has previous forklift experience, works well in a team environment, and is comfortable performing physical tasks throughout the workday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to move and transport materials within the facility.
• Load and unload materials from trucks and designated storage areas.
• Move, stage, and organize materials according to operational needs.
• Verify materials and quantities when receiving, moving, or staging products.
• Maintain organized and accessible material storage areas.Assist with loading materials for deliveries or production needs.
• Inspect the forklift and report any safety or equipment concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow all company safety procedures and forklift operating guidelines.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of unnecessary debris.
• Assist coworkers and other departments with material handling tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties related to material handling and warehouse operations as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Previous forklift operating experience is required.
• At least one year of experience as a forklift operator / Material handler.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous warehouse, material handling, or manufacturing experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements
The position requires regular physical activity, including:

• Ability to lift and carry materials as required.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and twist throughout the workday.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to push and pull materials or equipment.
• Ability to safely handle materials of varying sizes and weights.
• Ability to work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment and adapt to varying temperatures and noise levels.

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and responsibly.
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report unsafe conditions, damaged materials, or equipment issues promptly.
