Grants Manager

Location Hybrid, Princeton, NJ – Minimum 3 days per week Compensation $32/hr Employment Type Full-time, Temporary Job Summary Our client is seeking a Grants Manager to support faculty in all aspects of pre- and post-award grant administration within a fast-paced academic research environment. This role is responsible for managing grant portfolios, preparing and submitting proposals, monitoring sponsored research funding, ensuring compliance with sponsor and university policies, and serving as a trusted resource for faculty and departmental staff throughout the grant lifecycle. Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of sponsored research awards, including budget forecasting, account reconciliation, and ongoing financial monitoring. Prepare, review, and submit grant proposals and supporting documentation through electronic research administration systems and sponsor portals. Advise faculty on grant funding, spending plans, project budgets, rebudgets, no-cost extensions, and overall funding sustainability. Coordinate post-award activities, including effort certification, cost transfers, award closeouts, journal entries, and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with university policies, sponsor guidelines, and federal regulations while maintaining accurate grant records and documentation. Collaborate with internal departments, research administration offices, sponsors, and external institutions on grant administration, subawards, and research agreements. Review and approve sponsored project expenditures, including travel, purchasing, reimbursements, and invoices, to ensure compliance with funding requirements. Provide guidance and support to faculty, students, and staff on grants administration processes, policies, and financial controls. Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of grants management or sponsored research administration experience. Knowledge of federal grant proposal guidelines, sponsor requirements, and electronic proposal submission systems. Experience with grant budgeting, financial reporting, and post-award grant administration. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet competing deadlines, and work independently in a collaborative environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with electronic research administration systems is preferred.
