Histology Technologist

The Demetris Research Histology Services (RHS) laboratory provides complete translational research histology services which include serving as a core lab for the Immune Tolerance Network (ITN), multiple Clinical Trials in Organ Transplantation (CTOT), and multiple grants and corporate local, national, and international clinical trials. The RHS lab specializes in sample preparation, sectioning, routine staining, and immunohistochemistry services. Currently, we are providing these services for twelve sponsors with additional contracts pending. Possible need for another lab technician to assist with the workflow and allow the lab to meet project requirements.


Manages day-to-day laboratory operations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices. Works with, adapts, and installs scientific equipment in research laboratories. Develops and collaborates on routine projects and procedures. Manages inventory and equipment and performs budget functions.


Essential Functions:
• Must be able to perform all basic histology and immunohistochemistry procedures: grossing, processing, embedding, sectioning, special stains, equipment maintenance, other routine lab tasks
• Follow established protocols and troubleshoot basic immunohistochemistry as necessary
• Compliance with regulatory training and EHS requirements
• Will be handling the entire lifecycle

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelors or Associates Degree
o Combination of education and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education and/ or experience requirement.
• At least a year of experience in a wet lab as a histotechnologist
• Ability to work independently with little supervision


Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Histotechnician Certification (HT ASCP) or Histotechnologist Certification
• Managerial Experience
