Position Overview
Role: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical
Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME
Employment Type: Full-time | Night Shifts | 7 PM – 7 AM | 12-Hour Shifts
We are excited to welcome newly graduated RNs and provide a comprehensive residency program, practical training, and dedicated mentorship to enhance your confidence and clinical expertise.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering safe, patient-focused care by employing the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, within the Medical-Surgical unit. Key duties include:
- Providing direct care to assigned Medical-Surgical patients
- Conducting ongoing assessments and monitoring patient conditions and treatment responses
- Informing physicians of any changes in patient conditions, diagnostic results, and symptoms
- Administering medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed
- Educating patients and their families while guiding nursing support staff
- Responding promptly and accurately to changes in patient status
- Maintaining precise and timely clinical documentation
- Ensuring adherence to patient safety, HIPAA, and regulatory standards
Education, Experience, and Training:
- Must possess a current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS certification required upon hire and must be maintained.
- ACLS certification preferred within 30 days of hire and must be maintained.
- Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.
- Experience with ventilator management is preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
This position is full-time and requires night shifts.
