Senior Network Engineer

Job TitleDesired Skills and Knowledge Areas:Expertise in Load balancing technology including algorithms and health check optionsExperience with Global Server Load Balancing/GTM, Local load balancing/LTM, SSL acceleration, compression/caching, and DNSExperience with enterprise load balancers such as Citrix ADC/Citrix NetScaler, but would consider other platforms such as F5Knowledge of TCP as it pertains to packet inspection and network/applicationsExperience programmatically configuring Application Delivery Controllers (e.g., APIs, scripting)Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosis of communication issues with packet capturesAbility to work with technical and non-technical customers assessing their load balancing needs and building design proposalsStrong understanding/knowledge of web/application architectures.Strong understanding of Web Application Firewall technologies (WAF)Understanding of Cloud based load-balancing architectures (AWS/Azure)Strong understanding of network infrastructure, firewall, proxy, and associated detail in order to troubleshoot potential load balancer issues.Robust/broad troubleshooting skills.Responsibilities:With load balancing as your focus, you would be part of a team that maintain and operate next-generation networking, security and load balancing hardware, tools, and implementation techniques to meet customer’s requirementsActively participates in the resolution of ServiceNow tickets by either taking ownership of tickets through resolution or driving a vendor to resolution. Works with other teams to support the closure of tickets where applicable.Proactively monitors and tunes the load balancer architecture to achieve optimum performance levels; provide performance statistics and reports.Monitors and drives upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management to ensure audit compliance.Mentors and develops junior members of the team.Participate in an on-call rotation with other Network Engineering team members.For additional details please see attached position description.One note from the team: “looking for someone with 3+ years with load balancing experience, specifically with NetScaler”.Minimum QualificationsFor Hire: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, 5-7 years of network engineering and design experience with 1-3 years’ experience in increasingly complex network design and engineering, or an equivalent combination or education and experience. Extensive working knowledge of networking protocols, transmission media and systems integration techniques.
