The Stock Clerk loads the displays and shelves with groceries and merchandise for sale to the customers.

The Stock Clerk retrieves, loads and unloads products and merchandise onto cart to move from back room to store displays and/or shelving. Properly operates department equipment and tools. Assists with the unloading of delivery trucks. Keeps work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards. Politely greets customers with a smile and provides excellent customer service; attends to customers' needs when looking for store merchandise; calling for manager or supervisor when necessary. Promptly reports maintenance and safety issues, especially with floor conditions to manager on duty. Reports all accidents promptly to manager on duty. Supports other departments when needed in a courteous manner. Performs other work-related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position. Maintains punctuality and good attendance in compliance with company policies.

Retrieves shopping carts from parking lot. Assists with bagging when needed; places items in bags for customers; assists with loading into shopping cart when necessary. Assists cashiers with price checks on any store merchandise. May perform general cleaning duties such as mopping and sweeping.

The individual performs duties in a grocery store environment. He or she maintains frequent contact with supervisors, employees and customers. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate. In this position, there is the possibility of using knives, case cutters, stock cart, shopping carts, manual pallet jack, stepstool, coolers, ice machines, pricing gun, crate opener, baler and cleaning supplies and equipment.
