Automotive Mechanic

AMR is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to maintain and repair our ambulance and medical transport fleet. In this critical support role, you will diagnose and service gasoline and diesel vehicles, perform preventive maintenance, and complete safety and compliance inspections to keep units patient-ready. You'll collaborate with operations and clinical teams to minimize downtime, prioritize safety, and ensure reliable response for emergency and non-emergency transports. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on ambulance and support vehicles Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections to keep units in service and compliant Document all repairs, parts usage, and inspections in fleet maintenance systems Coordinate with operations and clinical staff to prioritize urgent repairs and minimize vehicle downtime Ensure all work follows safety, regulatory, and manufacturer standards for emergency vehicles Assist with new vehicle upfitting, equipment installation, and acceptance inspections Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment Participate in ongoing technical training and stay current with evolving ambulance and fleet technology Automotive diagnostics Gasoline and diesel engine repair Brakes and suspension service Electrical and electronic systems repair Preventive maintenance and inspections Hydraulic and mechanical systems Vehicle HVAC systems Fleet maintenance software use Reading technical manuals and schematics Safety and regulatory compliance for emergency vehicles Benefits Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Qualifications ASE certifications (A1-A9) preferred Automotive or diesel vocational/technical training EPA 609 HVAC certification preferred Valid state driver's license CDL with applicable endorsements a plus OEM or ambulance upfitter training a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr
