Day Shift Rn Psychiatric Nursing
Day Shift RN provides psychiatric nursing care in a newly established crisis intervention unit near La Marque, TX. The role supports patients through stabilization, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and ensures safety and accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to patients in a newly established crisis intervention unit
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor patient safety and intervene as necessary to manage symptoms and prevent harm
- Document patient progress, reactions, and treatment responses accurately and promptly
- Support patients through crisis stabilization and facilitate smooth transitions to appropriate ongoing care
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Texas
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric, mental health, or ER nursing experience
- Knowledge of psychiatric patient management and safety protocols
- Strong communication and crisis intervention skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced mental health environment
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
- Must live within 35-40 minutes of the facility
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced psychiatric certifications (e.g., SAMA)
- Experience working in crisis intervention or mental health units
