Staff Accountant

Join a well-established food manufacturing organization as a Staff Accountant, supporting finance operations in a dynamic production environment. This role is responsible for managing cost accounting processes, analyzing manufacturing costs, and driving efficiency across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in standard costing, inventory controls, and variance analysis within a manufacturing setting. Job Function Maintain and analyze standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual cost accounting close processes Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead) and provide actionable insights Partner with operations to improve cost efficiency and reduce waste Monitor inventory transactions, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to cost of goods sold (COGS) Prepare detailed cost reports and financial analysis for leadership Ensure accuracy of cost data within ERP systems Assist with internal and external audits as needed Identify and implement process improvements within cost accounting functions Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3–5+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably in food manufacturing Strong knowledge of standard costing and variance analysis Experience with Sage X3 or other ERP systems.
