In this Information Technology Specialist (Applications Software) position you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals to ensure that various Information Technology (IT) application software components. Typical work assignments include: Overseeing the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications. Working with business analysts and development teams to create technical user stories and tasks that populate the development backlog. Providing expert technical guidance and recommendations on critical and controversial IT issues. Developing and presenting automation options to management that take into account time, cost, and resources available. Qualifications Basic Requirement: Individuals qualifying based of experience must have Information Technology (IT) related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Leading or performing complex tasks related to the design, development, testing, installation, implementation, and maintenance of application software systems. Conducting in-depth analysis of business and technical requirements to inform the development or modification of IT solutions that support organizational missions. Providing expert technical guidance and recommendations to project teams and stakeholders on IT system development, integration, and problem resolution.
