Your Role in Our Mission The Grant Writer helps secure, document, and track corporate, association, foundation, and government grants for Food Bank of the Rockies, contributing to the team’s annual revenue goals. This position works in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and on a team that manages 100+ grants each year. The Grant Writer works cross-departmentally to ensure alignment and funding of key initiatives for the organization. End date August 13, 2026 Opportunity type Job Category Job responsibilities What You’ll Do Contribute to high-quality and on-time grant proposal and report submissions, including writing and document compilation Adhere to timelines and grant deadlines across departments Prepare, compile, and maintain updated grant proposal and report attachments, information requests, and narratives Support the stewardship of foundations, corporations, associations, and government entities Communicate grant awards via the necessary channels to ensure internal grant compliance with the programs and finance teams Help coordinate social media requirements, recognition, and applicable publicity for grant awards and announcements with the marketing and communications team Maintain complete and up-to-date records in Raiser's Edge, including grant documentation, and enter all relevant notes and actions in donor records Handle the administration of grant-related activities, record-keeping and management of the Grants Team inbox Handle confidential information with discretion and care, ensuring the privacy and respect of employees, volunteers, partners, donors, or others Conduct prospect research to identify new grant funding opportunities and prepare donor briefing documents What We’re Looking For High School Diploma required; Bachelors' Degree in related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience At least two years of prior experience with grant writing and/or nonprofit communications Prior experience and familiarity with Raiser's Edge or donor management software preferred Excellent organizational, time management, and follow-through skills Ability to communicate persuasively and articulately both verbally and in writing Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work schedules may vary each week and consist of weekdays, and occasional evenings and Saturdays, but primarily stay within the core business hours of Monday-Friday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. A hybrid work schedule is available with the option to work remotely in the Denver Metro area. In-person work is required a minimum of three-four days per week, or more often based on organizational need.
