Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Telemetry

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shifts: 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, every other weekend, with holiday coverage as needed.

The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care in a Medical Surgical Telemetry setting, focusing on managing patients with a variety of medical conditions, including respiratory problems, diabetes, surgical post-operative care, and more. Candidates should be proficient in telemetry, EKG interpretation, and possess strong clinical skills necessary for managing complex patient needs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in a telemetry unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Monitor and interpret patient vitals, including heart rhythms and other rapidly changing indicators.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding care and health management.
• Participate in departmental and organizational quality improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred.
• Active nursing license in the state of practice.
• Experience with electronic health records, specifically Epic, is mandatory.
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred.
• Must be able to pass a mandatory EKG exam during onboarding.
