Pumper Job Description (Wichita Falls, TX)

Pumper is responsible for optimizing and maintaining oil and gas production and lease expenses. The pumper will prepare and submit reports daily for daily liquid / gas volumes, chemicals used, well pressure, etc. 5+ years of experience in a similar is role preferred. Pumper is responsible for its own roustabout work/maintenance. The employee must be capable of working on a team and have good verbal and written communication skills.

Pumper Job Responsibilities

The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but are not meant to be at all inclusive or nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary

• Pumper checks of wells and provides prompt notification as conditions change
• Conducts production tests
• Performs minor repairs of surface production and injection equipment
• Pumper maintains production equipment in good operating condition
• Pumper is responsible for Roustabout work on assigned wells
• Maintain a clean and safe lease and well-site
• Pumper submits daily reports of produced volumes of oil, gas and water
• Contacts haulers and ensures produced fluids are taken from the lease sites in a timely manner
• Witnesses and ensures accuracy of gauges, tests and run tickets
• Pumper maintains company equipment including computers, vehicles, and cell phones
• Responsible for maintaining neighborly and positive relationship with land owners and regulatory agency representatives
• Complies with all regulatory, environmental and safety rules and standards, as well as company policies

Position Requirements

Pumper Qualifications

• High school, a GED, or its equivalent
• Basic computer skills are required
• 5+ years of pumper experience
• 5+ of roustabout experience
• This position requires a valid state issued driver's
• CDL is a plus...

Pumper Physical requirements

• Oilfield pumpers need to be physically strong and have good endurance to handle heavy equipment, perform manual labor, and work long hours.
  • They may be required to lift heavy objects, such as pipes and equipment, and work in various weather conditions.
• Oilfield pumpers need good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to operate and maintain equipment, handle tools, and perform precise tasks related to the oil extraction process.
• The job often involves climbing, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces. Having good mobility and flexibility is crucial for safely navigating equipment and the oilfield environment.
• Oilfield pumpers may work on uneven terrain or platforms, so having good balance and coordination is important to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Good vision and hearing are essential for safety and communication in the oilfield. Oilfield pumpers need to be able to see clearly and hear instructions and warnings.
• Oilfield work can involve exposure to extreme temperatures, wind, rain, and other challenging weather conditions.
  • Being able to work in adverse weather conditions is a physical requirement of the job.
• Overall good health is important, as the work can be physically demanding and may require regular medical evaluations to ensure that the pumper is fit for the job.
• May need to work at heights, whether on platforms, derricks, or other elevated structures.
  • Therefore, they should have the ability to work safely and comfortably at such heights.
