Case Manager - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Annual Salary: $50,604 Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Our Organization Since 1971, the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided the highest quality of behavioral health services to residents of the cities of Hampton and Newport News, Virginia, offering a comprehensive array of programs for both children and adults living with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders. Role Summary The Case Manager for Child & Adolescent mental health supports children, adolescents, and families by ensuring timely access to coordinated behavioral health services and resources. This role exists to promote stability, continuity of care, and measurable progress toward treatment goals. Key responsibilities include completing assessments, developing individualized service and treatment plans, coordinating with internal and community providers, delivering supportive counseling, and responding to urgent situations when needed. Required qualifications/skills: Bachelor’s degree in a human services field such as Social Work, Psychology, Sociology and Counseling One (1) year of case management experience Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and ability to work effectively with diverse populations Your Typical Day Your day follows a consistent Monday-Friday schedule (8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) and balances direct client contact with coordination and documentation. You’ll connect with youth and caregivers to review progress, update plans as needs change, and confirm next steps with partner agencies and service providers. Throughout the day, you’ll prioritize communication—returning calls, arranging referrals, and ensuring information is shared appropriately. When a situation escalates, you’ll pivot quickly to provide timely support and help stabilize the immediate concern, then reset the plan so services remain on track.
