Job Summary

Professional Search Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Press Brake Machine Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to accurately bend and form sheet metal components according to precise specifications. Your expertise in machine operation, measurement, and blueprint interpretation will ensure the production of high-quality metal parts that meet safety and quality standards. Responsibilities

• Set up and operate press brake machines, ensuring proper tooling selection and machine calibration for each job.
• Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to determine bend angles, dimensions, and sequence of operations.
• Measure finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify conformance with specifications.
• Adjust machine settings as needed during production runs to maintain accuracy and quality.
• Perform routine maintenance on press brake equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety standards in production environments.
• Collaborate with team members on tooling setups, material handling (including forklift operation), and quality inspections to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of craftsmanship.

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of press brake machine operation, setup, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in interpreting mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and shop math.
• Experience with CNC programming for automation of bending processes is a plus.
• Familiarity with other manufacturing equipment such as CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutting tools, stamping presses, electrical discharge machining (EDM), forming machines, and hand tools.
• Ability to use precision measurement tools for quality control and measurement accuracy in machining.
• Mechanical knowledge related to sheet metal fabrication, metal forming processes, welding techniques, and tooling setup.
• Strong understanding of safety standards in manufacturing environments and the importance of safety protocol adherence.
• Basic math skills necessary for measuring, calculating dimensions, and performing shop math calculations.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for precise fabrication work.
• Experience with material handling equipment such as forklifts is advantageous for efficient workflow management.
