Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Medical Surgical unit requiring strong clinical skills in high-acuity patient care. The ideal candidate must be proficient with insulin and heparin drips, manage patient ratios of 1:6 or 1:7, and demonstrate adaptability to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to high-acuity patients on a Medical Surgical unit.
• Administer and monitor insulin and heparin drips in accordance with protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient treatments and outcomes.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately and timely.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards, including BLS and NIH certifications.
• Follow infection control procedures and ensure patient safety during shifts.

Qualifications:

• Valid Alabama RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience, especially in large healthcare settings.
• Proven ability to manage high-acuity patients with patient ratios of 1:6 or 1:7.
• Demonstrated proficiency with insulin and heparin drips.
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts (7:00 - 19:00).
• Travel experience preferred, with active compact or AL license.
