Registered Nurse - Day Shift - 13 Week Contract

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering superior quality care by embracing the core values of the organization. The primary focus is to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, following established safety guidelines while providing comprehensive nursing assessments and individualized patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, establishing individualized care plans.
• Identify patient and family education needs and set teaching goals based on nursing assessments.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, utilizing the nursing process to prioritize patient education.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission, ensuring effective communication regarding patient status and care continuity.
• Provide training and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to hospital policies and procedures regarding personal and environmental safety.
• Contribute to a positive work environment through team building activities and effective communication with all staff members.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and engage in ongoing professional development.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (location specific).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience preferred.

Schedule

This position requires a full-time commitment of 48 hours per week, with shifts being 4x12 hours. The candidate should be available to work every other weekend and holiday.
