Overview

Responsibilities

Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established safety and procedural standards.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and documentation in accordance with protocols.

Verify patient demographics and signatures post-venipuncture to confirm accuracy and proper specimen labeling.

Maintain accurate records and documentation of procedures performed and patient information.

Create a trusting environment by effectively communicating procedures to patients and ensuring their comfort and confidence.

Perform specimen collection and processing duties both in clinical and forensic contexts, adhering to established practices.

Support a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating organizational skills and flexibility to cover multiple locations as needed.

Required Skills

Proven proficiency in phlebotomy, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Strong attention to detail to ensure error-free work and accurate specimen labeling.

Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate openly with patients, peers, and supervisors.

Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings while managing multiple priorities.

Basic keyboard and data entry skills to maintain accurate records.

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Experience working in a Patient Service Center or similar environment is preferred, with at least two years of relevant experience.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, covering multiple locations with minimal notice.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
