Medical Instrument Technician (Ultrasound)

Duties

Independently perform a wide variety of complex diagnostic ultrasound examinations to support the diagnosis and treatment of disease or injury.

Utilize diagnostic two-dimensional imaging, spectral Doppler analysis, color and power Doppler, angio techniques, and real-time ultrasound imaging.

Responsible for identifying abnormalities within the body and providing accurate ultrasound imaging documentation as medical proof of abnormal findings.

Analyze sonographic findings to distinguish between normal and pathological conditions.

Assist radiologists and medical officers with complex or invasive diagnostic procedures, including needle biopsies, aspirations, sonohysterograms, and renal biopsy guidance.

Identify critical or unexpected findings requiring immediate physician notification and recognizes situations that require direct, real-time observation of the examination by the radiologist or obstetrician facilitating physician.
