No design experience is required, must have at least 3 years of experience as a Technician. \n\n Knowledge of engineering design principles, applicable codes and standards, and established design practices used in the planning and development of projects.\n Skills in using industry-standard engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, ArcGIS, Microsoft Office, etc.) to develop, modify, and coordinate engineering designs, drawings, and technical deliverables.\n Ability to analyze data, apply design criteria, and use standard office and engineering software to produce accurate design documentation and support project completion.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nResponsible for the successful development and delivery of project design components serving as a key contributor between engineering and technical production, translating engineering concepts into detailed, constructable designs.\n\n1. Design + Analysis // \n\n Support Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Senior Designers with assigned design tasks under supervision.\n Utilize engineering and drafting software to develop plan, profile, cross-section, and utility drawings from survey data, record drawings, and design criteria.\n Interpret survey notes, utility records, specifications, and engineering plans to develop accurate base drawings.\n Translate rough sketches, design concepts, and engineering direction into construction drawings.\n Incorporate redline markups and review comments.\n Perform basic engineering calculations, including elevations, grades, utility dimensions, and material quantities.\n Support field data collection and utility research to inform design development if applicable.\n\n2. Compliance + Quality // \n\n Apply Company QA/QC processes and procedures in the preparation of design deliverables.\n Perform self-checks on drawings and data for accuracy, completeness and consistency. \n Maintain organized and accurate project files and documentation.\n\n3. Communication + Collaboration // \n\n Work with supervisor, Project Manager, mentors, and various internal personnel to complete assignments within discipline.\n Coordinate with project teams to support design development.\n\n4. Training, Learning + Advancement // \n\n Learn and apply company drafting standards, workflows, and design tools.\n Participate in training, learning and advancement opportunities, may assist with the development of others in a mentorship role and/or developing tools and resources. \n\n5. Client + Internal Satisfaction // \n\n Support internal project teams by delivering assigned work accurately and on schedule.\n May work with internal clients daily and escalate concerns when needed.\n\n6. Some trips to client offices and outdoor environments for observations will be required.\n\n Seated and Standing Position. Extended periods of sitting and standing in an upright position at a workstation.\n Mobility. Movement within the office and job sites, including navigating between floors, workstations, and outdoor environments with potential for uneven surfaces.\n Neck Movement. Forward flexion, extension, or lateral rotation of the head and neck while using multiple computer screens.\n Repetitive Motion. Repetitive finger movements for operating a computer mouse and typing on a keyboard.\n Arm Movement. Extending hands and arms in various directions, such as overhead, below the waist, forward, or laterally.\n Object Handling. Raising or lowering objects from one level to another and transporting objects by holding them in the hands, arms, or over the shoulder.\n Cognitive Requirements. Selective attention, oral comprehension, oral expression, speech recognition, speech clarity, written comprehension, written expression, problem sensitivity, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, number facility, information ordering, category flexibility, flexibility of closure, fluency of ideas, and originality.\n Office Conditions. Includes extensive use of electronic devices such as computers, printers, copiers, scanners, plotters, and telephones. Additionally, tasks may involve the use of cutting tools and equipment like rotary paper cutters and plotting devices.\n Outdoor Conditions. Includes walking and climbing on uneven surfaces, confined spaces, and exposure to extreme weather conditions (heat and freezing temperatures). Potential exposure to high noise levels and various allergens, including poison ivy, sumac, dust, pollen, and cedar. Potential exposure to wildlife hazards such as animals, insects, and plants.\n Safety and Equipment Use. Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, along with use of hand and power tools.\n\nEXPECTED WORK HOURS\n\n This is a full-time position, generally 40 hours per week, however, hours may fluctuate depending on department needs including the use of overtime.\n CobbFendley’s standard operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM CST. Generally, employees receive a 1-hour unpaid lunch break free of duty.
