Description Hawkswood School, a NJ approved private school for students with disabilities, is searching for part-time Teacher Assistants to work with students on the autism spectrum and students with multiple disabilities, ages 3 through 21. Work Hours Work hours (mornings or afternoons): Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. for a total of 18.75 hours per week Monday – Friday 11:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. for a total of 18.75 hours per week (additional scheduling adjustments are available) Employment Requirements The Teacher Assistant must be a matriculated college student and must maintain a 3.0 grade point average. Must hold a minimum of a High School Diploma Previous experience with special needs children or adults is helpful. Successful candidates will be required to provide evidence of matriculation and grade point average, as well as complete a physical and drug screen, and a NJ Department of Education criminal history background check. Compensation Compensation: starting at $15.49 per hour. Increases are based upon experience and achievement of credit hours. Benefits Tuition Reimbursement of 18 credits per academic year, not to exceed $9,900 per academic year, based upon the reimbursement rates in Hawkswood School policy.
