Abdominal Transplant Surgeon

Northwell Transplant Institute is seeking a full-time Abdominal Transplant Surgeon to serve as Surgical Director for Pediatric Liver Transplantation. This role involves partnering with an established Pediatric Transplant Hepatology team at Cohen Children's Medical Center, a leading pediatric teaching hospital. The successful candidate will contribute to world-class organ transplant care for both pediatric and adult patients within a supportive and collaborative environment. Practice Info The Transplant Institute offers comprehensive adult transplant services for heart, lung, kidney, and liver. The Transplant Institute currently offers the only pediatric heart transplant program on Long Island, as well as an established pediatric kidney transplant program. The multidisciplinary team is based at Cohen Children's Medical Center. Cohen Children's Medical Center is the largest pediatric teaching hospital in the region, serving 1.8 million children. Cohen Children's Medical Center is the tertiary pediatric medical center of the Northwell Health System and the only Level-1 Pediatric Trauma Center on Long Island. Transplant procedures are performed at North Shore University Hospital and Cohen Children's Medical Center. Responsibilities Serve as Surgical Director for Pediatric Liver Transplantation. Partner with an established Pediatric Transplant Hepatology team. Compensation Competitive salary and benefits package. Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125,000 to $750,000, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity. The base compensation range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. Requirements Strong background in Pediatric Liver Transplantation. Completed ASTS approved fellowship training in Abdominal Transplant Surgery with preferred fellowship training in Pediatric Liver Transplantation Hepatobiliary Surgery. Candidates with significant focus in pediatric abdominal transplant surgery without advanced pediatric transplant/hepatobiliary surgery fellowship may be considered. At least 2 years post-fellowship experience. Proven track record of clinical excellence and surgical proficiency. Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
