Job Title

Registered Nurse – Cardiac PCU / IMC / Stepdown

Location

Seattle, WA | Intermediate Care / Progressive Care Unit

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to Cardiac PCU patients including those with myocardial infarction, primary arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement
• Manage pre- and post-operative open-heart surgery and vascular surgery patients, including chest tube care and sternal precautions
• Perform telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management, including epicardial pacer management and cardioversion/defibrillation
• Administer blood and blood products; provide care for patients requiring CPAP/BiPap, trach care, and breathing treatments
• Support specialized structural heart patients including VAD and TAVR, as well as pre/post cath lab patients with or without interventions
• Float to like units as needed; expected to work every other weekend and commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience is a hard-stop requirement
• Minimum 2 years of experience, including surgical telemetry, open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, and groin/radial band management
• 2–3 years of telemetry experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a travel candidate
• This unit does not accept first-time travelers
• 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) management
• Experience with TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) support
• LVAD and open-heart post-op care within 24–28 hours of surgery
