WELDER II – Branch Join to apply for the WELDER II role at Branch . Position Summary Branch Civil is searching for an experienced and safety-oriented Welder to join our well-established, growing company. The position is responsible for welding metal components together to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, equipment, motors, and generators, according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders, using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. Welds metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes. Essential Functions Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding. Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts. Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal parts preparatory to welding. May perform other related duties. Qualifications Knowledge of construction techniques. 5+ years of welding experience. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations. DOT experience preferred, but not required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste and smell. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours.
