Job Title

Registered Nurse – Patient Care Unit (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed acute care unit serving a diverse patient population including COPD exacerbation, CHF, swing bed, post-partum, and pediatric patients
• Manage patient assignments at a 1:4 ratio (1:5 stretch) under the support of a non-patient-carrying Charge Nurse on every shift
• Perform accurate and timely documentation using Meditech Expanse; operate Alaris infusion pumps
• Monitor patients via central telemetry and portable telemetry monitors, responding to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including Case Managers, Social Services, Therapy, Lab, and Pharmacy to coordinate patient care
• Float to the Emergency Department in a task nurse capacity as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry unit
• Previous experience working in a Critical Access Hospital setting
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Reliable personal transportation (rideshare services are not available in this area)
• Willingness to wear Navy Blue scrubs per unit dress code

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification (American Heart Association)
• Experience with swing bed patients, wound care, or long-term antibiotic administration
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse charting system and Alaris infusion pumps
