Runner/Busser

Position Summary As a Food Runner at All American Modern Sports Grill, you are a key link between the kitchen and the guest. You ensure that meals are delivered promptly, correctly, and presented with attention to detail. Whether it’s a casual lunch, a packed game night, or a private party, you help maintain the fast flow of service by assisting servers and keeping the guest experience seamless. This role is perfect for energetic, detail-oriented individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Quickly and accurately deliver food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate guests Confirm that every plate matches the ticket (item, modifiers, table number) Maintain knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients and common allergens Maintain inventory levels and report low stock to the Kitchen Manager Rotate stock to ensure product freshness and reduce waste Guest Interaction Present food with confidence and professionalism, describing items when appropriate Handle guest requests courteously or promptly direct them to the appropriate server Check tables for completion delivery and notify servers if additional service is required Team Support Communicate clearly and efficiently with kitchen staff and servers Assist with pre-bussing and retrieving utensils as needed Help ensure all tables receive food in a timely manner Cleanliness & Safety Maintain cleanliness and organization in the expo line and service areas Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols Clean spills, wipe surfaces, and empty trash regularly Comply with all sanitation and safety regulations Qualifications Must be at least 16 years old Previous experience as a food runner or busser a plus, but not required Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive attitude required Knowledge of food safety and sanitation Availability to work weekends, holidays, mornings or evenings required Skills & Attributes Strong Work Ethic: Self-motivated, punctual, and reliable Team Player: Works well under direction and supports the team Sense of Urgency: Keeps pace with high-volume kitchen operations Attention to Detail: Double-checks order accuracy and plating before delivery Clear Communicator: Able to speak confidently and respectfully with team Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for extended periods (6+ hours) Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (trash bags, plates, boxes, etc) Navigate quickly through crowded or narrow spaces Must be able to bend, squat, reach, and perform repetitive motions High-volume sports bar with restaurant dining and bar seating Low-light conditions, with loud music and varying temperatures With experience and demonstrated reliability, food runners can progress into expo, greeter, or server roles.
