Staff Accountant - Construction

Our growing client in Fremont is seeking a Staff Accountant / Project Accountant to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, managing project costs, and contributing to the financial success of a dynamic organization. Location: Fremont, CA (100% Onsite) Pay Rate: $33-$38/hour Duration: Temp-to-Hire Key Responsibilities Track, analyze, and reconcile project costs and expenditures Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities Review project budgets and monitor cost variances Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions Generate financial and project-related reports using Excel Maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks Support project managers with financial data and cost reporting Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures Assist with audits and special projects as needed Qualifications 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a project accounting, construction, manufacturing, or cost accounting environment Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and project cost tracking Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reporting Experience using QuickBooks required Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and organizational skills Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Benefits Opportunity to convert to a permanent position Work with a collaborative and growing team Gain exposure to project accounting and cost analysis Competitive hourly compensation If you're a numbers-driven accounting professional looking for your next opportunity, we'd love to hear from you!
