Registered NurseThe Registered Nurse answers calls to collect clinical information relative to a transfer request and facilitates the transfer by matching the patient's clinical need to the facility with service and bed capacity capability. The major responsibilities of the role are: provides status reviews for all patients from any portal of entry (planned or emergent) prior to bed assignment; performs initial review based on the status specified by the physician's order and will follow through with analyzing clinical information and making recommendations regarding appropriateness of care; assures the financial integrity of the organization by decreasing waste by assuring proper admission status is communicated to registration and care managers, that information regarding current admission is adequate to meet screening criteria or to communicate with physician and / or physician advisor when criteria for admission are not met. Assesses the patient to ensure the right care is delivered at the right time by identifying delays and removing barriers.What You Will DoAssesses patient needs and coordinate appropriate level of care and bed placement to ensure safe, timely admissions and transfers.Facilitates inbound and outbound transfers, ensuring efficient communication and seamless coordination between referring and receiving providers and facilities.Serves as a central point of contact for physicians, facilities, and internal teams to support direct admits, ED transfers, and specialty activations.Ensures adherence to clinical protocols, regulatory standards, and patient safety practices throughout the transfer and admission process.Maintains accurate documentation, track key metrics, and support process improvements to enhance patient flow, timeliness, and service performance.Qualifications Minimum EducationTechnical Diploma/Certificate Nursing Required orAssociates Degree Nursing RequiredBachelor's Degree Nursing PreferredMinimum Work Experience5 years Nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting. RequiredLicenses and CertificationsRegistered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state Upon Hire RequiredBLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire RequiredRequired Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesDemonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge, and skills.Basic Computer SkillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated proficiency in acute care and critical nursing, knowledge, and skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in basic computer skills to include but not limited to Microsoft Word,Excel and Internet-based programs.Demonstrates ability to use basic math skills.Strong organizational skills.Acts professionally and independently, utilizing critical thinking and problem solving skills.
