Location Avera Behavioral Health Center – Sioux Falls Work Shift Regular; rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays (United States of America) Pay Range $24.50 - $48.50 per hour, based on experience. Position Highlights This position may be eligible for a Sign On Bonus of up to $15,000. Nurses with 3+ years of experience receive compensation for every third weekend and every other holiday. Student Loan Repayment Program This Registered Nurse position is eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program, which offers an extra payment of $167 per month (up to $10,000) to help pay down your loans. A Brief Overview Deliver nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis, establishing care objectives, defining interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. Monitor changing conditions, re‑evaluate care objectives, and document patient care. What You Will Do Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to the health care team. Coordinate with other healthcare providers and provide support to patients, families, and friends. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors. Conferring with family and friends; developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing objectives and interventions. Teach healthcare requirements by establishing goals, instructing patients and families, answering questions, and providing information and resources. Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, reviewing records, and re‑evaluating objectives. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by following infection‑control policies, medication procedures, and regulated protocols. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keep patient care equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, and calling for repairs. Keep supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership. Essential Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) – Active license in the state of practice. 1‑3 years of experience working in a clinical environment. Ability to work the specified hours and duties, including visual acuity, effective communication, hearing, and speech understanding.
