Junior Network Administrator

Position Summary The Junior Network Administrator is a member of the team responsible for keeping the network running efficiently 8e ensuring that all computers and other devices connected to networks, such as routers, hubs, and switches, are operating correctly, and responding when network anomalies cause network issues, at the direction of the Lead Network Administrator. Key Responsibilities Ensure all computers and network-connected devices 6f routers, hubs, switches are operating correctly Respond to network anomalies and resulting network issues at the direction of the Lead Network Administrator Assist with network monitoring, basic configuration, and routine maintenance tasks Document issues and resolutions; escalate complex problems to senior network staff Support end users and IT support personnel on connectivity issues Perform tasks as assigned in coordination with the Chief, Customer Support Section Provide a weekly status report of tasks completed during the week and upcoming initiatives Participate in and complete all required training, including annual DOJ security awareness training and annual signing of Rules of Behavior Comply with DOJ self-reporting requirements (iReport) and DOJ badge/PIV card requirements, including security screening when entering and exiting federal correctional facilities Required Qualifications 4 years of networking experience *; Substitution:* CompTIA Network+ certification may be substituted for 1 year of network experience Working knowledge of TCP/IP, switching, routing fundamentals, and network troubleshooting tools U.S. citizen (non-U.S. citizens are prohibited from accessing or developing DOJ IT systems per DOJ-07) Meets the DOJ Contractor Residency Requirement: for three of the five years immediately prior to performance, has (1) legally resided in the U.S., (2) worked for the U.S. overseas in a federal or military capacity, or (3) been a dependent of a federal or military employee serving overseas Able to obtain and maintain a DOJ Public Trust clearance (NCIC, DOJ-99 name check, FD-259 fingerprint check, and law enforcement agency check) before being permitted to work; willing to complete in-person identity proofing with two forms of I-9 identification prior to start of work Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to interact independently with teammates and managers and communicate effectively with non-technical users Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment Preferred Qualifications CompTIA Network+ certification Exposure to enterprise network monitoring tools Help desk or desktop support background showing strong customer service skills Active DOJ Public Trust clearance Pay: $63,371.41 - $72,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee assistance program Employee discount Flexible spending account Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Referral program Retirement plan Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Work Location: Hybrid remote in Washington, DC 20265 #J-18808-Ljbffr Socket.dev
