Department 37719 Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital - Sterile Processing Services Status Full time Benefits Eligible Yes Hours Per Week 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information M-F 11am-730pm Pay Range $19.80 - $29.70 Location Hugh Chatham Shift M-F 11am-730pm EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High School diploma or GED equivalent. Sterile Processing experience strongly preferred. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION N/A ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Operates all department machinery and promptly reports issues to the Instrument Processing Supervisor or Lead Instrument Technician. Performs manual and/or automated decontamination of instruments. Inspects instruments to ensure cleanliness and proper functionality. Assembles instruments into containers according to count sheets. Packages instruments according to manufacturer's instructions. Performs sterilization and verifies adequacy of the sterilization process. Maintains documentation of sterilization processes. Stores sterile containers in identified location. Assembles case carts according to the picklist and deliver to the OR. Participates in the department's weekday surge plan and weekend call. Assists other team members as needed. Protects self, coworkers, and facility by following policies and procedures concerning the prevention of spreading blood borne and or airborne contaminates/diseases.
