This role ensures client sample testing is delivered with precision, efficiency, and compliance. The Manager aligns laboratory performance with broader organizational goals and industry expectations.Participates in the hiring, training, and overall management of laboratory staff, including supervisorsManages the laboratory's operational budget, controlling expenditures and allocating resources effectivelyEnsures the laboratory complies with relevant regulations and accreditation standardsDevelops, implements, and revises laboratory policies and proceduresCommunicates laboratory performance metrics, challenges, and achievements to senior managementCoordinates activities and ensures effective workflow between different departmentsDevelops and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) for laboratory operationsOversees the laboratory's equipment maintenance and calibration programsAddresses and resolves escalated operational issues and staff conflictsContributes to the selection and procurement process for new laboratory equipment and suppliesPerforms other duties as requiredQualificationsBachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Required) 5 to 7 years of relevant analytical laboratory experience, including progressive leadership in team supervision, budgeting, quality systems, and regulatory compliance (Required) Additional InformationSGS is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and as such we recruit, hire, train, and promote persons in all job classifications without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetics, status as a protected veteran, or any other characteristics protected by law.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
