Fills requests from user areas. Essential Responsibilities:Upholds Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibility and applicable state, federal and local laws.Disassembles, cleans and decontaminates medical instruments, supplies and equipment using approved disinfectants, detergent soap, ultrasonic cleaningAssembles, inspects, test, wraps and dates medical instruments, supplies and equipment using such guides as illustrated manuals or lists asepticallyNotifies Supervisor of needed repairsUse of sterilizers for all processed medical supplies and equipmentIssues according to priority of need; delivers equipment and supplies as neededUpdates equipment inventory by logging in and out equipment with current program (SPM)Cleans, disinfects patient equipment as neededBiological testing on SterilizersObserves sterile techniqueCleans and maintains GI scopes according to manufacture IFUs (instructions for use) and hospital policyReviews OR preference cards to supply instrumentsPromotes, ensures and improves customer service to internal/external customers by demonstrating skills which are consistent with the organizations philosophy of providing extraordinary customer relations and quality servicePerforms other duties as requiredAssumes other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directedBasic Qualifications:Experience: N/AEducation: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.Additional Requirements:Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, basic microbiology, basic anatomy and physiologyAbility to learn and apply comprehensive knowledge of surgical instruments to distinguish appropriate instruments and to distinguish sterile from non-sterile and soiledBasic computer knowledgeAbility to lift 60 pounds and move in excess of 200 poundsAbility to tolerate standingAbility to prioritize and multi-task in a stressful environmentAbility to distinguish and hear audible alarmsPreferred Qualifications:One (1) year recent experience as an SPD Tech or Surgical TechCertification from IAHCSMM or CBSPD preferredCompletion of Accredited Sterile Processing Program including 400 clinical hours or a Surgical Tech ProgramMedical Terminology preferredNotes:Mon-Sun rotating weekendsPrimary Location: California, Moreno Valley, Moreno Valley Diagnostics & Treatment Scheduled Weekly Hours: 1 Shift: Day Workdays: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun Working Hours Start: 07:00 AM Working Hours End: 03:30 PM Job Schedule: Per Diem Job Type: Standard Employee Status: Regular Worker Location: Onsite Employee Group/Union Affiliation: B18|SEIU|United Healthcare Workers West Job Level: Entry Level Department: Moreno Valley Hospital - MaterialMgmt-CentralProcessing - 0801 Pay Range: $27.48 - $30.3 / hour
